On C train, coming up from uptown
Of course I end up sitting across from the straightest caucasian couple to ever exist on the west side of Manhattan. Of course they both had their hands on each other’s legs. And of course they both stared at me in silence, after chuckling to each other about something, probably something only straight couples laugh about. I don’t even know what at this point.
Within minutes, the woman *tried* to casually lean over to her boyfriend to whisper something in his ear. But her neck was all stiff. Almost as if she only tried to turn her face, and not her head to cover up the fact that she MAY BE shit talking about someone without being an obvious bitch about it. The first thing he did after hearing what she said was stare at my face. I returned the favor and did the same. Then it got awkward. Then all three of us just felt weird and none of us moved. For a long time. It was wonderful.
